It was very stressful to see our nearly new house in Lyttelton being gradually shaken to pieces by the earthquakes that struck over recent years. The house that we had designed and built on the hill overlooking the harbour had aged 50 years over a few short months. It rattled and shook in the wind, water streamed through the windows and roof, we were cold in winter. Everyone in Christchurch has their own earthquake story and we were lucky to be able to keep living in our house, but the impact on our family was major.

Then our insurance company appointed Integrity Built to do our repairs. It had been a competitive tender process and Integrity were successful in winning the tender. We had our doubts about a cost based tender process, was this the insurance company trying to cut their costs at the expense of doing a proper job?

Far from it. We were delighted with the Integrity Built team. The standard of work was superb. As the house was deconstructed and new problems came to light they showed an innovative problem-solving attitude that soon allowed the repair to move on. What made it so easy was that they talked to us. Constant updates, helpful suggestions, friendly professional advice. We got to know the team, from plumber to sparky, painter to chippy…they greeted us when we came on site and quickly put us in the picture. At the end of the day the job was completed on time, and we can honestly say the house is better now than it was before the quakes.

No doubt there are many competent builders out there, but they often fall short when it comes to dealing with the customer. What was great about Integrity Built was the way they listened to our concerns and made us feel part of the process.

Mike and his team from Integrity Built listened to our requirements, offered common sense advice and kept us updated throughout the fit-out process. The builders and sub-contractors on site were easy to deal with and very approachable. All in all the process was made stress free and simple by the Integrity Built team.

I have recently completed major repairs and strengthening to my earthquake damaged building in central Christchurch. My insurance company let the contract to Integrity Built.

Mike Barnsley and his team impressed me right from the start. The communication between builder, architect and engineer worked very well and I remained fully informed and involved throughout the process.

When the inevitable unavoidable holdups occurred, Mike was on the phone. The standard of workmanship was high, and subcontractors were well managed.

I came through the process very happy with the end result, and would highly recommend Mike and his team at Integrity Built to anyone contemplating a major construction programme.
